Street Self Help Centre is a registered Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee.

We were established in 1982 in response to high levels of unemployment in the area. The original 'drop in' service supported people in building self confidence and gaining new skills, either via formal training or through volunteering opportunities. The aim has always been 'to help people help themselves."

Over the years we have grown and developed in response to local need. Volunteers remain at the centre of our organisation and play lead roles in all aspects of our service.

We are funded by all levels of local government, Somerset Partnership, Somerset Adult Learning & Leisure plus a range of charitable trusts and local benefactors.
